Local MP Daniel Francis Visits Us
We were delighted to welcome back Daniel Francis MP for Bexleyheath and Crayford to our school.
He visited our Year 5 classrooms to see our flexible learning environments in action, highlighting how our Universal Design for Learning (UDL) approach supports every child to learn in a way that works best for them.
He then spent time with our Year 5 and 6 pupils, answering a wide range of thoughtful questions, including how voting works in Parliament and his journey to becoming an MP- inspiring our pupils to imagine how they might become future Members of Parliament one day!
We were particularly fascinated to learn about 'bobbing'- the practice of MPs rising and sitting to catch the Speaker’s attention during debates in Parliament. The children (and staff!) had great fun trying this out with Daniel Francis!
It was a lovely way to mark the end of UK Parliament Week and we thank Daniel Francis for his continued support of our school.
